Research and compare the information systems (IS) of three organizations. Choose current, past, or organizations with which you have had a relationship or can gather information (e.g., a friend or family member’s organization). Examine the advantages and disadvantages of each choice. Consider availability of IS personnel you will need to interview to gain familiarity with the organization.
After comparing three organizations, choose one as your main source of gathering information for this course. Working with a familiar company or organization should provide you with a more personal and candid conversation with IS staff. You will need to talk to them about matters such as purchasing, shipping, inventory, and credit card processing; firm productivity and profitability; and reporting and control tools used for decision making.
Write a summary about your selection. Include the following:
